Hi, my name is Leo Hoy. My passion for physical fitness & athletics led me to the decision to become a certified personal trainer. In June of 2013 I earned my NASM personal trainer certification. Soon after I began working part time at the YMCA in Westfield, NJ as a certified trainer. I work with a diverse population such as seniors, teens, women, and special needs. As a trainer, I am required to complete Continuing Educational Units (CEU's) every two years. This NASM requirement has given me the opportunity to expand my knowledge into other areas such as: - Senior Fitness Specialization -TRX qualification -Autism Fitness - Level 1 In October of 2018 I earned my Autism Fitness Level 1 certification. The Autism Fitness course offered by Eric Chessen was fantastic. I came away with so much knowledge which I apply to other special needs athletes across the spectrum. I am currently working with three Autistic athletes, one athlete with Down Syndrome, and an athlete with Cerebral Palsy. This experience has helped me realize that the special needs population deserves physical fitness and activity just as much as anyone else. I am glad that I have the knowledge, compassion, and certification to ensure that they receive this training. While I do most of my training at the YMCA, I am also available to train locally at the athletes home or other local gyms if desired.
